A small Secretariat based in London provides management, administrative and technical support.

       
    Brian Sullivan, Executive Secretary
Brian joined IPIECA as the Executive Secretary in 2011 from the biofuels industry and following a 23 year career in BP. He graduated in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Imperial College, London, UK and was recruited into BP’s Refining and Marketing international graduate programme in 1986. Over the course of 23 years, his career included assignments in London, Copenhagen, Budapest, Athens and Johannesburg, and business experience in over 60 countries. During his time with BP he has had a varied career of technical, commercial, financial and leadership roles across the downstream value chain including crude and products trading, marine fuels, lubricants and alternative energy.
       
    Rob Cox; Technical Director
Rob has over 20 years of petroleum industry experience with Caltex (now Chevron) in Africa, the Middle East and the United States. Rob's diverse background combines field experience in environment, health and safety aspects of shipping, refining, distribution and retail marketing, as well as environmental management system implementation, audit and review. Rob joined IPIECA in 2001. 
       
    Sophie Depraz; Planning and Communication Director
Sophie joined IPIECA in 1992. Sophie holds a Masters degree in Environmental Public Relations. While at IPIECA she has managed the oil spill preparedness, biodiversity, reporting and social responsibility Working Groups. She is now the Planning and Communications Director and runs the Planning Committee and the Communications Task Force.
       
    Ruth Romer; Project Manager - biodiversity and water
Ruth joined IPIECA in September 2007 and is Project Manager for the IPIECA Water Task Force and Biodiversity Working Group. Ruth holds a BA Hons in Geography from the University of Birmingham and recently gained IEMA Associate membership.
       
    Rob Siveter; Project Manager - climate change
Rob joined IPIECA in April 2007 and is Project Manager for the Climate Change Working Group. Rob has a degree and background in Computer Science, and obtained an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London.
       
    Anton Rhodes; Project Manager - IMO/IPIECA Global Initiative and health
Anton joined IPIECA in August 2009 as Project Support Coordinator. Anton holds a joint BA Hons in History and International Relations from the University of Aberdeen. In 2009, Anton graduated with a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
       
    Estella Nucci; Project Manager - operations, fuels and products; and supply chain
  • Estella joined IPIECA in February 2010 as Project Support Coordinator. Estella holds a BA in Ecology, and a second level Italian degree (“Laurea specialistica”) in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Rome. In 2010, Estella graduated with an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London.
       

    Roper Cleland; Project Manager - social responsibility
  • Roper joined IPIECA in August 2011 and is Project Manager for the Social Responsibility Working Group. Roper holds a BA in Liberal Arts from Vassar College and an MA in Social Anthropology of Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Her background is in international/community development and human rights.
       
    Paula Lynch; Office Manager
Paula started her career in the offices of chartered surveyors. In 1975 she moved to BP where she worked for the Manager of the Marine Sales Division at their then headquarters in Moorgate, London. After seven years of working for BP she was offered a secondment position in IPIECA as Senior Secretary. In 1990 Paula accepted a permanent position with IPIECA.
       
    Sam Roberts; Website and Office Coordinator
Sam joined IPIECA in May 2004. Sam holds a BA in Graphic Design from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, United States of America. Sam also holds a Masters in Business Administration from American University.
       
    Helen Murphy; Communications Officer
Helen joined IPIECA in October 2010 as Communications Officer. Helen has a BA Hons degree in History and Sociology from Cardiff University and an MA in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
