'Zero' draft negotiating text for Rio+20 now available

The first draft of the Rio+20 outcome document has now been published. UN Member states will be meeting in New York from 25-27 January for the first reading of the document and to provide comments.

A number of priority areas for Rio+20 have been identified including food security, water, energy, oceans and seas, climate change, forests and biodiversity, and sustainable consumption and production. On energy building on the ‘Sustainable Energy for All’ initiative is called for, along with each country working individually for low-carbon development and more widespread use of energy planning tools.
