IPIECA welcomes the creation of the new UN Working Group on business and human rights. In response to the call for proposals prior to their first session in January, IPIECA expressed its commitment to engaging in productive multi-stakeholder dialogues related to business and human rights and its appreciation of the opportunity to provide suggestions on the group’s thematic priorities and activities. IPIECA also encouraged the Working Group to take a phased approach to the execution of its work, and to make practical use of the Guiding Principles.
