IPIECA becomes a collaborating organizational partner of WaterMatch
16 Nov 2011
CH2M HILL have launched WaterMatch which is a free social networking site helping industry find sources of effluent for water re-use. The WaterMatch initiative promotes the beneficial reuse of municipal effluent for industrial use on a global basis. This is a mutually beneficial relationship between IPIECA and WaterMatch and has been fully supported by the IPIECA Water Task Force.
How does it work?
An online map application allows industrial users to locate nearby municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) as a potential solution for site-specific water resource needs. WaterMatch is housed on CH2M HILL’s external website. The map application will include locations of WWTPs worldwide. Users can search the map for nearby WWTPs as a consumer might search an area for a bookstore by entering their location and choosing a search radius. The matching map will enable personnel who work in municipalities and industries to find, connect, and collaborate with each other on a local basis.
