New good practice guide on substance misuse published
18 Feb 2011
Substance misuse is an issue of widespread global concern, and one that demands attention from all sectors of society and industry. Aside from the obvious potential for workplace disruption, and the deleterious effect on other employees or co-workers, there is an overriding need for employers to consider the implications of impaired individuals working in a safety-critical industry where the need for sound judgement and mental acuity are a constant requirement.
The newly published document, Substance misuse: a guide for managers and supervisors in the oil and gas industry, is intended to provide guidance to all those who are involved in the prevention and management of substance misuse in the workplace.
