The Expanding Role of Natural Gas: Comparing Life-Cycle Greenhouse Gas Emissions Tuesday, March 6, 2012 - 08:30 - Wednesday, March 7, 2012 - 08:30 Crowne Plaza Arlington, Texas, United States

The workshop aims to explore the expanding role of natural gas in energy supply and in important demand sectors such as electricity generation. Specific focus will be on recent estimates of life-cycle GHG emissions from natural gas production, transport and use, in relation to competing systems such as gas and coal fired power generation. There will be a special consideration of the implications for gas from unconventional sources and LNG systems. This work aims to build upon recent IPIECA workshops and work on both natural gas, and lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of unconventional fuels.
