The 'Oil and Gas Industry Guidance on Voluntary Sustainability Reporting' is intended as a voluntary reference tool to assist oil and gas
companies interested in reporting on their environmental, health and safety, social,
and economic performance. The indicators are simply suggestions for companies
interested in voluntarily reporting sustainability performance information. They are
not intended to replace traditional financial reporting or other information disclosure
specifically material to investors.
The purpose of the guidance is to assist oil and gas companies in improving the
quality and consistency of voluntary sustainability reporting.
This guidance acknowledges the value of the GRI Guidelines as an important generic voluntary reporting framework
however it addresses specifically the diversity of operations and unique activities of the oil and gas industry.
